Dr. Pamela Shuman, Council District 2

Dr. Pamela Shuman was elected Jesup City Commissioner November 2, 2021 and took office on January 1, 2022. 
 
 Dr. Shuman currently resides in Jesup, GA where she was born and raised. She attended grade school and graduated from Wayne County High School in 1990.
 
 Dr. Shuman lost her husband to leukemia in December of 2017. The couple has two adult children and two grandchildren.
 
 Dr. Shuman has many years of experience as an educator. Dr. Shuman is employed at the Wayne County Board of Education as the Director of Pre-K and Student Data.
 
 Dr. Shuman holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Georgia Southern University, a master’s degree in Technology Education from Lesley University, a specialist degree in Educational Administration from Albany State University, and in 2010, she earned her doctorate from Georgia Southern University in Educational Leadership.
 
 Dr. Shuman is passionate about community service and is involved in a variety of organizations. She has served in the following areas: 
Wayne County Chamber of Commerce - Vice Chair of Education 
 Partners in Education - Board Member
 Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) - Board Member,
 Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
