Downtown
Development
Jesup, Georgia
just 40 miles from the Georgia coast is a quaint little town with
captivating southern charm and rich history. The downtown area is
a warm and inviting place where you can shop a diverse and unique
collection of merchants’ offerings. Visitors will find everything
from antiques to fine apparel. The hometown feel you get just from
walking our streets is unequaled. When the autumn leaves start falling,
our downtown gears up for the Jesup Arch Fest. The Arch Fest is held
the fourth weekend in October in a six block area downtown. During
the festival you can expect to see the following: several arts and
crafts booths, live entertainment, classic car show, wild life section,
art show, garden club country store, motorcycle show, lucky ducky
race, petting zoo, kiddie rides and several other activities. Saturday
night we host the annual Mud Boggin Competition. During the month
of December our downtown lights up at night. All the crepe myrtles
lining Cherry Street are decorated to their finest. You can shop
our downtown stores while listening to festive Christmas music. Don’t
forget to visit the Santa House. Santa will be patiently waiting
to hear your wish list. With a newly completed streetscape and booming
downtown, it is easy to see why so many people love our quaint little
town. After one visit, you will feel the same. On the way to the
beaches, don’t miss the little town with amazing charm. |
